Strengths of Small & Mid-Sized Businesses

Small and Mid-Sized Enterprise (SME) Businesses are the backbone of American commerce. They serve our local communities as well as providing niche products and services to the nation. They create jobs for nearly half of all private sector employees, provide 40% of payroll for this sector, and make up 33% of American exports (US Small Business Administration).

The Challenges of SMEs
However, most SMEs operate on a narrow profit margin, struggle to maintain a well-trained workforce, have ineffective communications with their clients, have declining contact with their local communities, and have no clear short-term or long-term plan to move them forward. Moreover, SME owners often work very long hours and do the work of various employees.
